Porsche 911 GT3 R Hybrid finishes 18th on Petit Le Mans Debut

The Porsche 911 GT3 R Hybrid made it's North American debut at Road Atlanta this weekend at the 2010 Petit Le Mans.

Running in the event unclassified, the flywheel powered hybrid finished an impressive 18th overall with Timo Bernhard, Romain Dumas and Mike Rockenfeller taking turns behind the wheel.

While the 911 Hybrid led the Nurburgring 24 Hours earlier this year for 8 hours, until a mechanical failure forced it into retire, it didn't stand a chance of mixing it with the leading Audi and Peugeot Diesel Sports proto-types at Road Atlanta.
