Toyota has recently launched the Prius V (Alpha) in Japan. The Japanese model is a minivan with the Prius family styling, but as a 5-seater with two rows of seats, or three rows of seats making it a 7-seater.
Orders have been coming in faster than expected since Prius Alpha made its debut May 13. Toyota will boost output to 5,000 vehicles per month from 3,000 to shorten customer waiting time.
The same model will be launched at the Prius V in in the US and Prius Plus in Europe with two rows of seats. The Toyota Prius is still, unfortunately, not available as a plug-in hybrid.
