Toyota’s Prius became the best-sold vehicle this year in California, followed by Honda’s Civic and Accord.
Toyota, which is the biggest seller of gasoline-electric vehicles, managed to sell 46,380 Prius models in California from January to September. According to the California New Car Dealers Association, these sales took the model on the first place, from the 4th last year, after Honda’s Civic and Accord, and Toyota’s Camry.
Through September California drivers have bought 1.25 million new cars and trucks, accounting for 11% of the US total 10.9 million sold cars. The Prius models sold in California this year account for 25% of the total of 183,340 Prius liftbacks, plug-ins, v wagons and c subcompacts sold in the States.
According to Autodata Corp. Nationally, Ford’s F-Series pickup truck remains the top-selling US vehicle, followed by the Camry, leaving the Prius on the 12th place among all vehicle models and on the 7th place among car models.
